TRSS 35: Progress

By

It was the first week of April, more or less the beginning of spring, a time of renewal. Whereas the New Year gets us thinking about what we want to do, spring is when we start to see the rebirth in nature and hopefully in ourselves.

This week I reflected on the month of March and how I was doing. My weight was in the 155 to 160 range, which was my target low. I didn’t want to get any lower than that and felt as I got in better shape, dropping fat and adding muscle I’d gain from there.

Good thing was that all my tracking was good. I had switched from a general multi vitamin to individual pills as needed and didn’t take ones I was getting in excess in other ways.

I started reading Dan Goleman’s Emotional Intelligence. I had a copy from when I’d read it in my 20s.

I was really enjoying my interactions with the kids, seeing how they interacted with me, one another, their thoughts on things. I realized they couldn’t take notes without guidance, at least for the level of classes I was in. It wasn’t obvious what was important and what was not for them.

I was also starting to get info together to reach out to agents and publishers for my Turin book.

In short, I was focused and seeing progress.

I was positive and engaged with life. I was appreciative of things around me and grateful for what I had.

In short it was how we should be feeling on a regular basis. Sure not everything is perfect, but it isn’t bad, it is not neutral, it is good and getting better.
