Where I’m From

I was born, raised, and now live in Nazareth, PA, the Barony of the Rose. It is a little borough of 6,000 people in eastern Pennsylvania. My mother’s family was from here, while my father’s family was from Pittsburgh, PA. It is a good place to grow up and raise a family.

I went to the University of Arizona and lived in Tucson during college. I spent two summers in Washington, DC living with my aunt and uncle and working as an intern. I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Certificate of Concentration in Middle East Studies and returned to Nazareth where I met my future and now ex-wife. 

Associations

I am currently a member of the Tolkien Society and its Second Breakfast Smial. I am on the Nazareth Blue Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame Committee, and belong to the Greater Lehigh Valley Writers’ Guild. Through the years I have volunteered to serve several community groups, helped launch the Nazareth Center for the Arts, and was a part of the first PIAA sanctioned Nazareth HS Girls’ Wrestling team as a volunteer coach.

Presentations

Through the years I have presented at a range of conferences in person and online. I’ve presented at the Tolkien Society’s Annual Conference “Oxonmoot” each year since 2022. Since 2024 I have presented at the New York Tolkien Conference at Baruch University in NYC.

Previously, I made presentations at Digital Marketing for Medical Device West, Acquia Engage, and the Change Management Summit. I’ve also spoken on citizen journalism on WDIY’s Pints & Policy and at the Lehigh University School of Journalism.

Industries and Employment

I’m currently an Associate Teacher in my local school district working with at-risk and special needs students and proctoring the testing room as needed.

Previously I’ve been a full-time, contract and freelance employee working in government, education, non-profit, agency, and global enterprise, primarily in the B2B sector within Medical Device and Chemical.
